Dr. Madyson Locke
Optometrist
Dr. Locke was born and raised in New Baden, Illinois. In 2019, she graduated with high honors from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, receiving a bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology. She then went on to attend Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, TN, where she received her Doctorate of Optometry, Cum Laude, in 2023. Dr. Locke completed her residency at the St. Louis Veterans Affairs Medical Center, where she received rigorous training in ocular disease and primary care.
During her time in professional school, Dr. Locke was a very active participant of multiple clubs. She served as president of the Optometric Private Practice club, as she has always had a passion for private practice optometry. She furthered her training through externships, in which she rotated through other optometric modalities to gain experience in various specialities of optometry.
Her first rotation, Park Ridge Vision in Park Ridge, IL, gave Dr. Locke hands-on experience with vision therapy, vision rehabilitation for post-stroke and post-brain injury, myopia management, and pediatric care. Her second rotation was at the St. Louis VA, where she received hands-on experience in primary care, geriatric care, and ocular disease management.
During her residency at the St. Louis VA, Dr. Locke has seen over 1,000 patients, managing a large range of diseases including glaucoma, macular degeneration, and diabetic retinopathy. She has received additional training with specialty contact lenses, including gas permeable lenses, scleral lenses, and hybrid lenses. In her free time, she loves to spend time with her dogs, read thriller novels, and explore new coffee shops in the area. Dr. Locke is very excited to be joining Complete Family Eyecare and cannot wait to help you with your visual needs!
Dr. Andrew Dust
Optometrist
Dr. Andrew Dust has joined the staff of Complete Family Eyecare and will see patients in the Herrin location beginning July 1.
A native of Teutopolis in south central Illinois, Dr. Dust is a graduate of Southern Illinois University Carbondale and the Illinois College of Optometry. His interest in eye care began at a young age when he discovered he was nearsighted in the fifth grade.
“I still remember my first pair of glasses,” he remembered. “It was life-changing. I could see all of the leaves on the trees and individual blades of grass, which really influenced me.”
Dr. Dust also recalls how his grandmother’s life improved with special contact lenses. These experiences shape his approach to optometry.
“I take time to understand each patient's individual needs based on their life and work. I focus on the little things that often go unnoticed during an eye exam, like checking for disease,” he said. “I want every patient to feel they have received a complete exam and that all their needs—even those they might not know about—have been addressed.”
Dr. Chase Rudolph, owner of Complete Family Eyecare, said Dr. Dust is a perfect fit for the practice.
“We are thrilled to welcome Dr. Dust to our team. His passion and expertise in the field will ensure our patients receive the best possible care. Growing up in Southern Illinois myself, I know how important it is to have a personal touch, and Dr. Dust brings that with him.”
