Your Diet and Your Vision

Your diet can play a key part in your eye health. In fact, keeping certain foods in your diet can actually prevent against or reduce your risk of developing eye conditions. A big example of this is seen in nutrients and vitamins such as vitamins A and C, zinc, omega-3 fatty acids. These can lower the risk of developing conditions such as age-related macular degeneration (AMD) or cataracts.

Making sure that your diet contains enough includes plenty of nutrients that support eye health is incredibly important. Leafy greens, citrus fruits, and oily fish that provides omega-3s are all great options for optimizing your diet for your eyes. However, just like your diet can have a positive impact on your vision, it can also have a negative impact as well. The consumption of too many highly processed, high-fat foods increases the risk of eye problems.
